Sarasota Yacht Club, the newest, largest, and finest yacht club in the area wanted to replace the decking on their boat docks.  After interviewing and receiving bids from several contractors Florida Shoreline was chosen to complete the work.

The work consisted of two phases. 

​

• Phase one was the replacement of the decking on the north dock.  The old pressure treated decking was cracking creating and unsightly and unsafe boating environment.  Over 6,300 sf of old decking was removed and replaced with Trex Transcends composite decking.  To ensure the Dock Master’s golf cart could still travel on the docks and service the boats, additional stringers were added for more strength

 

• Phase two was the replacement of the decking on the center/fuel dock.  Due to the static electricity often created on composite decking Trex decking could not be installed near the fuel line. Instead, Sundeck pressure treated decking produced by Southern Pine Lumber was installed.  Sundeck is a marine grade decking with all four edges machined to a 1/2″ radius and pressure treated to withstand the harsh Florida environment.

 

All of the decking was removed and reinstalled without closing the docks to the members
