Marvista Dockside Restaurant and Pub

The Marvista Restaurant, the iconic and historic landmark on Longboat Key needed to replace their 25 year old dock.  The waterfront restaurant earns over one-third of their income from boaters, so it was of the upmost importance the dock not only looked great but was finished quickly as well.  After receiving bids from several marine contractors Marvista and the Chiles Restaurant Group chose Florida Shoreline to handle the new construction of their new boat dock.

The entire dock was removed and rebuilt, bigger and better than before.  Wanting to avoid cracking deck boards and splinters on customer’s feet LumberRock composite decking was chosen to replace the pressure treated decking.  This premium decking combines recycled plastic with a natural mineral fill material to create deck boards that are not only strong and durable, but also environmentally responsible. In addition to the LumberRock composite decking, the new boat dock features the following upgrades:

  • The deck boards as well as the entire dock is secured with stainless steel hardware.

  • Black piling wrap on all the pilings to help protect against marine boring organisms.

  • Coned shaped plastic caps for aesthetics and to keep birds off the pilings.

  • All pilings in the boat slips are equipped with Fend-All heavy duty bumpers to help protect the boats while people eat their lunch

  • Custom lighting including underwater lights to make night-time visits special and safe.

Come to Marvista, enjoy the view and a grouper sandwich and check out the handy work of the skilled craftsmen at Florida Shoreline.
